we got our barn design down, with the way our game is going to play and the layout.
After a few conversations with our tutor we decided that the design of the characters should be changed to match the design of the cows.

we wanted to give the player choice so we added another playable character who is a girl to give everyone who plays our game something to represent them selves .
i have also giving you a preview of the strawberry cow

we decided on a basic designs for characters and NPC's the picture i have uploaded is of our design for the controllable characters. and no he has not got a name!

stick to the basics

seen as we are not the strongest coders we decided to stick making a basics game. and the result was..... THE MILKY MILK KIDS!!!!!!! its a working title so bare with me.
the premise of our game is to have children run up and randomly drink from one of four jugs of milk filled with different flavors of milk. the flavors include strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and banana, the players goal is to keep the jugs filled by milking the cows

ideas? Anyone.... Nope... OK!

the 2 weeks off really put people to sleep a group of 4 ended up being a group of three. not realy going to go in to it but it made it more challenging, ideas where far and few between which i saw coming so it wasnt that big of a deal.

PAPER PROTOTYPING

Active Experimentation/what happened

Now gathering all the data we had working on this game for the past month and a half we created a paper prototype. For this prototype to work we finalised the story and how it would work and which pages would the player would need to go to.

Page 1 was the intro telling the story and what has happened.
Page 2 was a list of suspects, this was added a little later as we found out from early testing that having only one or two suspects did not offer much variety or a challenge. So for the prototype we increased the number of suspects to six three males and three females.
Page 3 scene of the crime.
page 4 shadow, kid, paint.
page 5 cafe, a piece of cheese two options available go to p 11 or p 9
page 6 bathroom, fuzz two options available go to p 14 or p 10
page 7 long hair, cafe or bathroom.

While we had a prototype of our story was completed and playable for the members of our group we had realised that other groups in our class were sometimes lost and/or confused. Now this was a big problem if others were finding it difficult at this stage then we needed to fix and add some new things. The paper prototype is the bare bone of what we envisioned as the final piece in our minds would of been clearer since it would have solid directions and also many illustrations to help guide the reader.

What needs improving

We need a much clearer format we for this prototype we just used text maybe if we used diagrams and symbols on to where to go next and such. Also some drawings to show progress.

What now.

While some things did not work we had progress in other areas because now we have a story and pages set out so the basics work and if we sorted the faults this could very well work with no problems. Doing a prototype is always nessasery because now we know our faults and what works and how we can go on and improve it, not only that but it also first time you actually see if this idea would work or not if it don't work on paper then it wont work where ever we end up taking it.

players choose what page to move to each page will have 2 options in a total of 20 pages.
There will be image and written clues.
plus see through parts to ake some of the clues easier to find.

no there are no turns since only one person can read it at once or be read to.

the third planet: Lesson three

Still with the same group reflected on our work and developed it further, its still going with the theme of a mother buying for her son.

for a child between six and eight year of age, its going to an educational game.

interactive book (storytelling) idea is that it offers different routes and endings.

mother and child activity or can be read on their own.

The book is about a detective named detective dan who is gone into the Tate to find the stolen Art.
- To win both the thief and stolen objects need to be found- To lose player loses the thief and art work.

reader will be shown both images and text (this is how clues are given) and depending on where they want to go must follow on to the next page which will be at the bottom.

immersive experience with alternative routes and endings for 6-8 year old.

Becoming a tester

God of war 3 will be released on the Playstation 3 the 19 march 2010, it's centred around a Spartan gladiator named Kratos who seeks revenge on the gods for betraying him. He himself is a half god half human because his father is Zeus and his mother was human. When I first played God of war for the Playstation2 I thought to myself "this is how a game should be made". Then God of war 2 was released and it blew me away! The responsive controls, the combos you can perform on the enemies and the weapons you collect during game play are more powerful that the last which is very exciting, the boss fights and overall story of how he became the god of war i understand that as a tester i wont be playing through the whole game straight, just as the title stays i will be testing the game so that might boil down to me just going through the same section over and over checking for bugs and over miner or large discrepancies.
God of war 3 would have been the one game I would have loved to test till the Playstation 3 crashed.

back for seconds

Captain’s log
Today on the star ship LCC in the galaxy PPD we came up with some resistance coming up with some basic characters so that we could create a game for that person or persons. The characters we created were unsuccessful because they lacked depth they were a mother with no name, looks or personality but she did have a son.
As a group we decided that the game would have an educational purpose.
